Mission & Philosophy of the Department of Accounting
The mission of Department of Accounting is to create, debate and disseminate knowledge about the measurement and communication of financial and non-financial information that will inform our students, alumni, managers and capital market participants and facilitate rational financial, economic and policy decisions.
Message from the Department Head
Stern's Department of Accounting offers a wide range of courses and programs for students interested in acquiring the skills that will better enable them to serve the information needs of professional clients and the organizations that employ them.
We offer BA degree with an emphasis in accounting as well as a Diploma degree. Our College is committed to the pursuit of excellence in their teaching and research activities. We pride ourselves in the knowledge that more of our accounting graduates have entered the ranks of senior partner of the major accounting firms than any other business school.
Program Objective
General Objective:
- The program plans to meet the College’s mission of instilling into present and future-leaders’ knowledge of current and future accounting, auditing and finance practices and relevant skills through student–centered high quality, viable programs which are fully recognized internationally and by both the private and public institutions in Ethiopia.
Specific Objectives:
- To produce graduates in its regular degree program to satisfy a portion of demand for accounting and finance graduates.
- To enhance the relevance and timeliness of instruction, as well as the technical competency of the staff, by conducting applied research and developing innovative educational materials and techniques.
- To provide students with sufficient academic, technical, logical, analytical, and professional base from which to pursue a career in accounting and finance and to advance to further study and a potential academic career in accounting and finance.
- To be a major provider of consultancy services to the public.
- To put 80% of its second year complete and third year complete students into internship programs in which students gain practical experiences.
- To establish linkage programs with different stakeholders from which the program will be able to tap resources and share experiences.
Admission Requirements
Anyone who wishes to join the BSc/ BA program is required to meet the entry requirements of higher institutions stated by Ministry of Education.

Message from the Department Head
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the Parkland College will prepare you for a rewarding career in nursing and provide you with a strong foundation for a wide range of professional nursing opportunities. Graduates are well-prepared to enter the nursing field or pursue graduate education leading to careers in teaching, research or advanced practice nursing.
Thus, the bachelor's degree in nursing offers theoretical and practical courses in anatomy, mental health, physiology, pediatric nursing, etc. The nursing programs prepare specialists to provide care for different patients.
The profession of Nursing is a community of people who care, not only about patients but about transforming how we provide healthcare.

- The program plans to meet the College’s mission of instilling into graduates how to treat patients, and challenges them to think critically about health systems and their effects on patients.
Specific Objectives:
- Provide nursing care for individuals, families and communities in adherence of sound scientific ways of nursing processes;
- Demonstrate competence in the skills and techniques of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected areas of physical, biological and behavioral sciences;
- Participate as members of the health team in the promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care delivery system of the country.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making;
- Recognize the need for continued learning for their personal relations and professional development;
- Demonstrate skills in teaching, management, inter-personal relations and communication;
- Practice ethical values in their personal and professional life.
Admission Requirements
Candidate must be a natural science student in secondary school & preparatory classes fulfilling the following criteria:
- Meet the set criteria of the Ministry of Education (MoE) for degree students to join higher learning institutions.
- Physically and mentally fit for nursing service;
- Preferably those who choose to enter the profession.
